FRONT OFFICE PERSONNEL

Front Office work is very interesting since it is a multi-faceted job. The normal hours are either 8:00 AM to Noon, or Noon to 5:00 PM every eighth day. Some people prefer to work the full shift, that is, 8:00 AM thru to 5:00 PM. These volunteers are responsible for answering the incoming non-emergency telephone lines and assisting those callers, greeting people as they walk in to the Squad Building and taking blood pressures.

Other duties involved are:

  • Handling the loan of equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, etc. as well as their return
  • Accepting donations received either by mail or walk-ins
  • Preparing Vials of Life and handing them out to our residents
  • Answering questions about the Squad or referring them to someone else for the desired information
  • Giving out stickers for the telephone that contain emergency numbers
  • Giving out blank key locator cards and receiving returned cards
  • Giving out evacuation forms to those who need electricity for life saving equipment
  • And any other duties as requested

No prior experience is necessary as all front office personnel are trained in all aspects of the job. Front Office work is interesting and varied and you get to meet many people both on the Squad as well as those coming in for assistance. It is a people oriented job, and is one of the most important jobs on the Squad.
